400m repeats this morning.


800m warm up


6x

400m fast pace

400m recover pace


800m cool down


Much cooler than yesterday, but I was still covered in sweat by the end of this one. I felt like I had hit a wall on the 5th interval, and I really struggled to keep up with my 7:30/mile pace. Once I got to the recovery phase of that interval, all I could think about was that I only had one more sprint left, then I could coast to the finish. Running is a physical sport, but it's very mental, as well. You've got to find ways to motivate yourself through the hard parts.
